Placement Tests
Placement tests are part of the registration process and are given to all new prospective BLC students to accurately place students in our classes. Returning students are placed as recommended by last year's tutors. We want the student to be challenged, not overwhelmed. The placement test consists of four sections (listening, reading, general and speaking). Allow for two hours to complete the entire test.
Placement/registration for new students is complete for Spring, 2010. Dates and times for placement/registration for Fall, 2010 will be posted in July 2010.
Registration
After you have completed your placement test, you can select your actual class. A BLC volunteer will assist you in completing the registration forms.
Textbooks
BLC will lend to each student a copy of the course textbook which must be returned when the student leaves or completes the class. BLC will also issue a workbook that the student may keep. Students may purchase textbooks from BLC during the first three weeks of class. Students who wish to purchase their own textbook should use the following information:

All “One on One” students not enrolled in a class
September-June: $50.00 plus book purchase if required
A refund of $25.00 will be made to students who return their textbook in good condition.
The Executive Director may approve a fee payment schedule. Book deposits must be paid in full prior to textbook issue. Students with outstanding balances from a previous year may not register for the current year.
