BLC's Board always needs your input as it continues a series of strategic planning sessions.
Do you have an idea about the future goals and actions of BLC? What worked well this past year? What needs improvement?
Contact Ethel Campbell and let her know; she'll get the word to the Board.
Tutors are always welcome to attend a Board meeting!
Instructional levels
With the adoption of the Topnotch/Summit curriculum, BLC will be teaching six levels of English. Our schedules and promotional materials will continue to use the previous identifiers with minor changes.
Beginner "A" (Topnotch Fundamentals)
Beginner "B" (Topnotch 1)
Advanced Beginner (Topnotch 2)
Intermediate (Topnotch 3)
Advanced "A" (Summit 1)
Advanced "B" (Summit 2)
We are conducting placement examinations for each new prospective student as part of the registration process. Returning students will be placed upon the recommendation of last year's tutor.
Special note about textbook use: Please remind students that the textbooks are lent to them and must not be marked in. Students may purchase personal copies of the text from BLC during the first three weeks of class or from local retailers. Students will otherwise pay a $29.00 deposit prior to textbook issue.
